[WK3] 5/13 - Tea Party in Dormitory

Tonight I had a tea party with my classmates. Actually, we live in a dormitory which consists of houses. Although we live in different houses, we are very close. We held the party in my house, which I just cleaned. I prepared Chinese tea, juices, and snacks. In fact, I only had Pringles and bananas. Fortunately, they brought more snacks, such as chocolate cookies, cheeses, senbei which is a japanese snack and so on. We talked about any topic: travel, studying, languages, and why I am here, for example. We even discussed if smoking is bad or good. It was a bit of a serious subject. No matter what the topics were, it was undeniably a wonderful night. We enjoyed the beautiful night sky and crescent before we called it a night.

[WK3] 5/12 - Brad of Life

Today is Sunday and it's also my third week here in Torrance, California. I didn't wake up very early though I was supposed to attend the mass at 11:15. This was my first time going to church here. Because my new friend was sick, I had to go there by myself. In my original plan, I had decided to take a bus there, but I found that I didn't have enough change, 50 cents, to take a bus so I eventually rode my new bike, which I bought from a nice Taiwanese boy here. It took me almost an hour but I felt very healthy. Maybe it was because today is Mother's day that the traffic was very light and many stores were closed. I arrived at Brad of Life Church earlier than I had planned. Today's worship was very relevant since it was all about Mother's Day. The children of the church chorus sang for mothers. They were extremely cute. After worship, I finally met Mark the pastor and introduced myself to him. The people there were so nice and kind. I really love it here.
Later, I had a lunch with my another new friend, Zhou, at GOGO juicy. It's a really amazing Taiwanese food restaurant. I have not yet eaten any Taiwanese food here so tasty and local. You can see its reviews on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/go-go-juice-lomita. Zhou and the boss Rick are both very nice guys, so that we enjoyed ourselves and had a very nice time. Then he recommended us to visit a Japanese marketplace called Mitsuwa. Mitsuwa is an undeniably amazing Japanese supermarket. Its board listed rental information, which was the major reason we were there. In the end, I thank Zhou for taking me back home and God for giving me such a fulfilling day.

[WK2] 5/11 - Housekeeping

I finally cleaned my house. I rent a room all to myself in a four-bedroom house, but I don't have any roommates. The cleaning utilities are really bad, for example a broom without a dustpan and a mop that's seen better days. Even though the tools are so bad, I tried my best to clean the whole place. It took me all afternoon, but it was worth it. A clean floor is very comfortable to step on it.
